OKLAHOMA CITY – A Chandler High School senior served as a page for Rep. Jim Shaw, R-Chandler, during the fifth week of the First Session of the 60th Legislature.
Tatum Crouch, a senior at Chandler High School, has excelled academically and in leadership. She is the valedictorian of her class, a member of Youth Leadership Oklahoma Class 24, and a Girls State delegate.
She participates in numerous extracurricular activities, including track, cross country, and pom dance, Student Council Positive Peers, Business Professionals of America, National Honor Society, Gifted and Talented, Native American Student Association, International Thespian Society, and PSI Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Crouch plans to major in physiology at Oklahoma State University before attending medical school. She hopes to return to Chandler to practice family medicine.
“Tatum is an outstanding student and leader,” Shaw said. “Her commitment to academic excellence, extracurricular involvement, and her future plans to serve her community through medicine are inspiring. It was a pleasure to have her as a page at the Capitol.”
Shaw, a Republican, represents House District 32 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. He is dedicated to supporting young leaders and providing opportunities for students to engage in state government.
The House High School Page Program is open to juniors and seniors. Pages are assigned for one week, Monday through Thursday, during which time they work in the House Chamber during daily session, assist representatives and House staff, and participate in the House Page Mock Legislature.
The first session of the 60th Legislature began Monday, February 3.
