
Bobby Ray Ferris 87, of Luther, Oklahoma, passed from this life on January 5, 2025. Bobby was born November 8, 1937, in Mooreland, OK, to William and Janie (Davis) Ferris.
He graduated from Luther High School with the class of 1956. After graduation, he served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked for the postal service before becoming a diesel mechanic which he did until retiring in 2016 from Veola. Bobby enjoyed reading, bowling, and gardening. He loved cars, hot rods, and trains. He loved going to Gene Watson concerts and spending time with his family. He and Kay had a tradition of taking the grandkids to the Ice Capades every year. He was a very kind-hearted man and friend to so many.
He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Johnny Ferris, Effie Mullin, and Margaretta Pickle. His brother-in-law Tom Shankles and son-in-law, Rodney Story.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kay; son, William Ferris (Nancy) of OKC; daughters; Valeeda Malone (Vic) of OKC and Karmen Story of Luther; grandchildren, Krissy, Josh, Tyler, Nicole, Jacqui, Bradley, Scott, Whitney, Hilary, Bailey, Trevour, Kirstie, Brick, Hunter, and Lilly; and, numerous great and great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Debbie Wasson, OKC, and Sharon Hoover, Edmond, as well as a host of other family and friends.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 1 pm at the First Christian Church, 415 E First, Luther. Viewing and visitation will be on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 4 – 7 pm at Boydston-Bailey Funeral Home, 105 S. Main.
