Luther Lions Cross Country High School boys team ran its first 5K meet at Okemah Saturday. Coach Stan Higdon said all five guys had personal records, and two especially stood out.

Jay Cross medaled in the Top 20 and finished in fifth place with an 18:37 time. Cross is building on his improvement from last week’s meet in Seminole. Higdon said if Cross gets that time down two minutes by the state meet, he will medal.

Wil Mohr had a great medal run, finishing in tenth place with a 19:31 time. Mohr also is cutting time from week to week.
Chris Casio finished with a 20:29 time for 23rd place
Collin Garrett came in at 30th with a 21:20, and Carson Easley finished 48th with 24:11.

As the lone Lady Lion on the Cross Team, Kory Price completed her first two-mile run for her first year of cross country.

The Lions Cross Country team will be in Ada at East Central University, Thursday, Sept. 6, and then in Prague, Saturday Sept. 8.
