Cross Country Team Improves in Seminole

For the Luther Lions Cross Country Team, the Seminole meet was all about improving.

Jay Cross medaled in the top 20, placing twelfth overall with a time of 12:23. Cross came in eleventh last week at the Stroud meet, but he improved his time by over a minute from 13:26.

Wil Mohr and Chris Casio ran in next for the Lions at nineteenth and twentieth place. Mohr’s time was 12:34, which was more than a minute faster than his 13:50 time in Stroud. Casio’s time improved by a minute and a half: coming in at 12:35 at Seminole and 14:05 at Stroud.

Finishing in 37th, Collin Garrett ran his two miles in 13:42, improving almost three minutes from his 16:15 in Stroud. The Seminole meet had almost double the participants of the Stroud meet.  Coach Stan Higdon said he was happy to see all the guys improve.

“Improvement is all I’m asking for,” said Coach Higdon.

The team next runs in Okemah on September 1.
