The Lady Lions are one win away from the State 2A Basketball Tournament. They earned a crucial win Saturday evening beating the Hooker Bulldogs, and will face top-ranked Dale this Friday night in the Area Finals.
The Lions are still alive, although they lost against Hooker. They boys have three more games to earn the bid to the Big House.
AREA RESULTS
Lady Lions 57 (W) – Hooker Bulldogs 45
Luther Lions 62 – Hooker Bulldogs 77 (W)
The Lions will play Wellston first Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Enid Event Center. If they win, they’ll play the winner of the match-up between Pioneer-Pleasant Vale and Preston Friday, then the loser of Hooker and Dale Saturday. They have to win every game to make it to state.

Coach Matt Jones said they’re going to focus on just how to do that this week.
“We’ve got to do a better job of adjusting,” he said. “We can’t put people on the free throw line like we did last night.” The Lions fouled 31 times against the Bulldogs.
The Lady Lions play Dale Friday at 6:30 p.m. Dale is ranked number one. If the girls win, they’re automatically in the state tournament.
