The Luther Pecan Festival, on November 8-9, 2025, is possible with strong support from businesses, organizations, and volunteers. We’d like to spotlight our friends at the The Dump Depot. With its state-wide headquarters in Luther, the Dump Depot provides a much-needed service for temporary outdoor restroom facilities, whether at special events, outdoor work sites, or for road crews. Brenda Paine of Dump Depot shares her thoughts on what supporting their hometown means to their business.
LRN: You always support the pecan festival (thank you), but you also go above and beyond helping all over town, whether it’s portapotties at the parks, parades, and other events like the Soap Box Derby, and the upcoming “A Christmas To Remember” (Dec. 5-7). Why do you do it?
DUMP DEPOT: We’re proud to be part of this community, and giving back wherever we can is simply part of who we are. The Pecan Festival is a highlight, but we’re just as excited about the parades, park gatherings, school events, and other local celebrations that bring people together. As a small, family-run company, we understand the importance of these moments — and that includes supporting our local school and the students who represent the future of this community. If we can help make things run a little more smoothly and comfortably, we’re all in.
LRN: Tell us about The Dump Depot!
DUMP DEPOT: We’ve been in business since 2010. Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of customers — from homeowners hosting weekend events to large corporations running long-term projects. We also serve multiple cities and towns surrounding Luther. We’re equipped to handle just about any setup — big or small.
LRN: I am amazed at how CLEAN the porta-potties are, especially for big crowds all day at an event like the pecan festival. How do you do it?
DUMP DEPOT: Thank you — that means a lot to us! Cleanliness is something we take very seriously. Each unit receives multiple cleanings throughout the day. Our team checks in regularly to restock supplies, clean surfaces, and ensure everything is in top condition. We also use quality deodorizers and take extra steps to ensure every unit is as fresh and sanitary as possible.
LRN: What’s something we should know about using a porta-potty?
DUMP DEPOT: It’s a toilet, not a trash can!
Speaking of trash cans, waste management is another significant aspect of hosting any event – whether it’s a family gathering for Thanksgiving, a sports tournament, or a festival. Thanks to Eastside Waste for providing dumpsters, extra trash carts, and liners to keep our town trash-free during the festival. Thanks also to the volunteers who take on a shift for “trash duty!”
What began as a one-day gathering in 2017 has grown into a regional favorite, featuring the year’s fresh pecan harvest at Couch Pecans, plus pecan pies, candy, and other treats alongside artisan crafts and early holiday shopping. Generous festival sponsors help champion artisans, entrepreneurs and small businesse including BancFirst, Central Rural Electric Cooperative & Centranet, Triangle Silt Dike, Oklahoma Propane Education and Safety Council, Wildhorse Canyon Farms Winery, OGE, Great Plains Veterinary Services, Alex Warren, Dump Depot, Eastside Waste, AT&T, Main Street Nutrition, Myles Davidson, Rustic Farm, CD Harris Designs, Glassic Designs, The Orchard on 66, Opus Entertainment, and Luther Register News. The 2025 expansion includes a new shuttle service, funded by the Central Community Foundation, connecting downtown Luther’s bustling market with the scenic setting of the Orchard on 66.
Downtown Luther is located just south of Route 66 and about 15 miles east of Edmond. Visitors using the Turner Turnpike should exit at the Luther/Jones exit, turn left, and travel north on Hogback Road to downtown Luther and the festival. Additional parking is available at the orchard. The orchard address is 19505 N Luther Road.
The hours of the Luther Pecan Festival are Saturday, November 8, from 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, November 9, from 10 am to 4 pm. An after-party sponsored by the Orchard on 66 and The Chicken Shack will be begin at 5:30 pm on Saturday at the Orchard. Other festival highlights include the sale of fresh pecans, pecan pie, and the presence of over 120 artisans, small businesses, and food trucks. A children’s entrepreneur market at the orchard, pony rides and petting zoo from Cairn Ridge, live music, and a car show on Sunday. A shuttle will run between downtown and the orchard both days, thanks to a sponsorship from Central Community Foundation. The festival is open to all, and admission is free.
Thank you 2025 Luther Pecan Festival Sponsors
