Two familiar faces on the Luther Town Board of Trustees made it official on Tuesday, filing for re-election. Mayor Terry Arps, who has led the board since 2021, is seeking another full term. Jerrod Davis, appointed to fill an unexpired term, also filed at the Oklahoma County Election Board.
“It has all been very interesting and fun to sit on the board these last two years. There’s a real possibility to grow Luther in a way that preserves the small-town charm while expanding opportunities for our citizens,” Davis said.

The filing period closes Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 5 p.m. On Monday, Cindy Harris Baker and incumbent Carla Caruthers also filed for town board positions. The fifth trustee, Jeff Schwarzmeier, secured his seat unopposed in 2022 and is not up for re-election this cycle.
If no other candidates file by the deadline, these four will be automatically elected—no campaign, no ballots, no suspense. But where’s the fun in that for democracy?
Stay tuned to The Luther Register for candidate details after the filing period ends. And if you have questions for those hoping to lead the town, please comment.
