Obituary

OBITUARY | Judy Ratai

Julia (Judy) Lynne (Thomas) Ratai was the oldest child born to Albert (AB) J. Thomas, Sr., and (Mary) Dolores (Goff) Thomas in Muskogee, OK, on September 5, 1938.

Judy loved to read. She began reading at a very early age and never stopped.  She loved painting, crocheting, working crossword puzzles, and nurturing plants.

She met the love of her life on a blind date when she was 18 years old, and they married on September 29, 1956.  Soon after, they moved to Oklahoma City, where they lived for over 60 years.

Judy was a loving wife to John for 64 years and a loving mother to their three daughters, Lisa Michele, Cari Lynne, and Julie Ann. Judy loved Jesus and shared her love for Him everywhere she went.  She also loved working at Crowe-Dunlevy Law Firm and later in the Real Estate Maintenance Department of T. G. & Y.  When she retired, she helped John manage an apartment complex they co-owned until the May 3rd, 1999, tornado destroyed it, and they moved to the country where she enjoyed nature and feeding her birds and deer.

Judy went to be with her beloved husband and Jesus on January 22, 2025.  She is preceded in death by her father Albert, mother Dolores, husband John, and son-in-law Todd Douglas.
