Mossy's Milk Soapery

A quiet afternoon in Luther was interrupted Sunday with a high-speed chase from the Turner Turnpike that went through Town. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. Kera Philippi said the incident began about 3 pm Sunday when a trooper tried to pull over a black Ford pickup truck in Oklahoma City on the Kilpatrick Turnpike with an expired tag.

A pursuit began as the suspect vehicle failed to pull over and traveled east on the Turner Turnpike. Lt. Philippi said the suspect vehicle exited at the Luther Jones exit and turned on Hogback toward Luther and then to Highway 66. The pursuit ended when the suspect turned on County Road 3300 in Lincoln County and hit a dead end. The suspect then took off on foot.

Lt. Philippi said the pursuit was then suspended, but the trooper was able to learn the identity of the driver who left his identifying information in the pickup. She said the suspect’s name is Robbie Joe Oberbeck and court records show he already faces charges in Lincoln County for evading police and concealing stolen property.
