Although it’s a holiday weekend, the Town of Luther grabbed its only open Saturday without a variety of activities such as youth sports for a Town cleanup day. At 8am until Noon Saturday, volunteers can meet at Town Hall to fan out and tackle beautification projects in Town proper, like sweeping Main Street or weeding at Veteran’s Park and just taking care of junk. What else?
And for the “big junk” items at your house, there will be big dumpsters downtown to unload that stuff. For $10 if you are a Town garbage customer, you can bring one (and only one) truck load to dump from 8am – Noon. Not a customer, it’ll cost $50. No dumping after hours or at night; there will be security to help prevent a mess like there was last year when folks dumped their junk all over Veterans’ Park. (Rumor was the culprits were from neighboring towns).
If you are not getting out of of town for the Labor Day weekend, consider spending the morning serving the Town.

The “big junk” roll offs do not have a cost. Citizens can dump their big trash for free, as long as the dumpsters are not not overflowing.
