A late afternoon injury accident Tuesday on Hwy 66 in Luther at the turn-in for the gas station, Jarvis Liquor and Chicken Shack shut down the road for a couple of hours between Peebly and Luther Roads.

Two vehicles were involved in the wreck. It seems the westbound vehicle slammed into an eastbound vehicle apparently as it the SUV was turning into the drive to the businesses.

The wreck was so bad the driver of the silver car was taken to emergency care via helicopter, while the driver of the other car went via ambulance to the hospital.

The identities of the accident victims are not released yet; but both vehicles only had one occupant. The silver car had a Texas tag.
