For any qualified Luther School District resident interested in being appointed to a one-year term on the school board, here is a provided application from the Oklahoma State School Boards Association. Download the application that provides a way for applicants to show qualifications and requires a notary signature: BBB-E3.
According to School Board President Steve Broudy, the application can be submitted to any board member at the email addresses listed on the district’s website. He also asks applicants to include some biographical information.
The vacancy was opened when former Board Member Charles DeFuria’s resignation from the board was accepted at the March 9, 2017, special school board meeting. The term expires about a year from now when the next regular school board election will be held.
It is expected that the board will consider any board applications at its April 10, 2017, regular meeting. If the four-member board cannot agree on an appointee, then a special election will be called.
