The mojo is BACK! In Friday night’s battle battle of the Lions—the Luther Lions crashed the Chandler Lions’ homecoming. The defense was tight, and the offense was pumped for a win. Luther takes their record to 3-1 in week four of regular season.

To start the game off, #84 Jordan Downs snagged a pass from QB #12 Chad Pridemore. Downs’ catch and short run to “the zone” was what sparked the tempo and mojo for the game. Luther there here to win. After Downs’ run, #7 Jose Velasco kicked the field goal to make the score 7-0 early in the first quarter.

dsc_0841We also saw the Pridemore Duo in action in the first half when #24 Dakota Pridemore caught the pass from #12 Chad Pridemore to score, where the field goal was then blocked. The Duo was also seen in the third and fourth quarters, which helped bring the team to a victory.

dsc_0947It was a big night for #22 Jesse Cole. Cole caught a pass from #12 Chad Pridemore and found himself in the end zone before the half. Cole had multiple “BIG PLAY” catches and on defense had some big stops to hold the opponent to just 14 points.

Freshman, #1 Cole Stastny got to feel of the pigskin tonight, running the ball up the field multiple plays, finding himself in “the zone.”

dsc_0969While the Lions were on defense, the morale was hyped. Big plays all around, from key players such as #25 Reed Wilson, #26 Josh Butler, #50 Tyler Leftwich, and #82 Dalen Murray. Wilson had a huge interception that put the Lions in close proximity relative to the end zone after halftime. Butler had multiple tackles all night that left Chandler with a loss for yardage all ballgame. Leftwich was ejected from the game after a personal foul that was called on both him and the Chandler defender during the play. Murray caught himself a good interception late in the game, which was a big play for him, and his teammates.

Next week, the Lions will hit the road to play Crooked Oak. Crooked Oak for Week Five marking the half-way point of the ten-game season! Come out and support the Luther Lions in SW Oklahoma City next Friday, September 23rd.

The Luther Middle School team will host the Chandler Lions Monday, September 19th at 6pm at Wilson Field. #MyTown
