Helping their neighbors

The Luther First Christian Church is inviting the community to help bless some of our neighbors.

They are having a Taco Bar and Fundraising auction a week from Wednesday and all of the money raised will be “distributed to two families who need a blessing.” The church is putting into practice the scripture: Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

That’s all the word we need. But if you need more reason to attend, the church’s youth group will be preparing the taco bar and Dennis Delano and Chuck Clowers promise it will be delicious.

Just last month, the congregation invited the community for an afternoon of preparing meals for the poor through for the organization Stamp Out Hunger.

Donations for the auction are also being accepted – giftcards, garden tools, antiques, trips, books, food … you name it, they’ll auction it. And hopefully, we’ll buy it!

You can contact Pastor Johnny Melton at johnnymelton11@hotmail.com for more info, or bring your items to the church. You could likely drop your items off at the building if you attend services there this Sunday.
