Officer Butler released on Bond

Luther Police Officer Anthony Butler was released from the Oklahoma County jail. His bond was $18,500.

Butler was arrested Sunday night on several complaints:

  • asssault and battery upon a police officer (misdeamenor)
  • domestic abuse by strangulation
  • two counts of misdemeanor domestic abuse in the presence of a minor child.

Butler was suspended without pay from the Luther Police Department at the time of his arrest. Authorities said Butler was intoxicated when his girlfriend texted a Luther police officer for help. 


No charges have been filed against Butler. The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office completed the investigation and a spokesman said OCSO finished up their part of the investigation and presented it to the Oklahoma County District Attorney. the District Attorneys office said these investigations sometimes take a week before formal charges would be filed.
