As the current school year winds down, Luther Public Schools will open in the fall with three new principals. The school board, in a Special Meeting Monday, accepted the resignation of Elementary Principal Sheila Wilson who is retiring. It’s been two trips through the calendar for Luther’s Chicken Shack. The chicken joint on Route 66 west of Luther Road is celebrating big this Saturday, with live music, great food, games and chill time at the venue’s backyard along the Deep Fork River. The anniversary menu will feature shrimp, crawfish and, of course, chicken.

Word from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. Work began Tuesday at the railroad crossing on Ash/Luther Road causing a temporary detour until the Work is complete. With Luther schools being out for seven days, the Luther High School prom committee lost time to finish fundraising and selling tickets.
