EOC Tech Seeks Voter Approval for a Technology Bond Extension on Feb. 10

Election Day is February 10, 2026, for voters in the district of the Eastern Oklahoma County Technology Center. This district serves Luther Public Schools, as well as Jones, Harrah, and Choctaw–Nicoma Park.

EOC Tech emphasizes that this is a bond extension that continues the current funding for technology. They state this proposal will not increase property taxes, but rather extend it for another five years.

According to the news release, this bond proposal replaces the existing bond that supports distance learning, internet connectivity, and technology at EOC Tech Center, Choctaw–Nicoma Park Schools, Harrah Schools, Jones Schools, and Luther Schools. The proposed bond totals $745,000 over five years. The expiring bond amount is $730,000.

The bond provides internet services to nearly 10,000 students and 1,250 employees across the five school districts, enabling internet-based instructional delivery. This includes support for requiredonline end-of-instruction testing, college entrance assessments, state licensure and industry certification testing, and web-based learning programs.

EOC Tech Superintendent Tony Hancock reports that 63 high school students from Luther Public Schools are currently enrolled in coursework and services at EOC Tech in Choctaw.

Additionally, the bond will assist teachers and staff throughout the five school districts by supporting expanded technology-based curriculum delivery, increased professional development opportunities, and improved student data reporting.

The news release states, “If approved, the bond will enable all five school districts to continue expanding technology delivery by providing a minimum of 2GB for Harrah, Jones, Luther, andEOC Tech, and a minimum of 5GB for Choctaw–Nicoma Park.”

This is the sixth bond issue for EOC Tech focused on distance learning, technology, and internet connectivity. Based on the Fiscal Year 2024-2025 Estimate of Needs, EOC Tech’s total revenue (including cash balances) was budgeted at over $158 million, funded largely by ad valorem (property) taxes and state appropriations.

The Oklahoma County Assessor’s office provides insight into how property tax dollars are allocated. More than 16% of these funds support career tech centers and state colleges. EOC Tech also receives property tax funding from Logan and Lincoln Counties.
