Donna Gayle (Riley) Peters, beloved wife, mother, granny, and friend, passed away on September 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 11, 1947, to William Ples Riley and Zonnel “Woolsey” Riley, Donna lived a life defined by dedication, kindness, and service to others.
She married the love of her life, Donald Wayne Peters, and together they raised four children — Robert Wayne Peters, wife Mary, Donald Lynn Peters, wife Jayme, Thomas Allen Peters, wife Rebecca, and Samantha Gayle Ledford, husband Ray. Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Wayne Peters, and by her parents, William and Zonnel Riley, and son-in-law, Ray Ledford.
Donna’s love for her family was boundless, and her home was always a place of warmth, comfort, and freshly cooked meals. She worked tirelessly, both inside and outside the home, balancing her roles with grace and devotion. She served the town of Luther, OK, as court clerk, bank teller at the local bank, and worked in the pipeline industry as a welder’s helper and pipeline inspector. Her strong work ethic, paired with her commitment to her family, was unmatched — doubling her efforts at home to ensure every need was met.

Deeply spiritual, Donna’s faith was her foundation. She lived with assurance in God’s promises and peace in knowing where she would spend eternity. Her steady faith was a source of comfort to all who knew her. A pillar in the Luther community, Donna inspired others with her generosity, unwavering love, and hearty meals made with care each week at the Senior Citizen Center. She cared for many of the town’s elderly and touched countless lives with her kindness and selflessness. For those who knew her, flowers will never smell as sweet, and sunsets will never shine as bright without her in the world.
Donna’s memory will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and all who were blessed to know her. Her life was a testament to love, hard work, and the joy of giving. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
