Happy Birthday America!
Get ready to wave your flags and light up the night for Indepdendence Day! On Saturday, July 5, 2025, our little slice of Route 66 paradise hosts a rip-roarin’ Independence Day Celebration to benefit the Luther Volunteer Fire Department. Organized by local heroes Josh and Stephanie Smith of Opus Entertainment, this fest kicks off with a Main Street Parade, rolls into family fun at Wildhorse Park, and ends with a dazzling fireworks finale. Here’s the scoop on how to join the party, dunk a firefighter, or snag a vendor spot—plus a peek at Opus’s fireworks stand at the historic Threatt Filling Station. Let’s make Luther shine!

This patriotic procession marches down Main Street, ending at Wildhorse Park for the festival. All are welcome—families, businesses, or your 4-H crew. Email Josh at djbookingokc@gmail.com (subject: “Parade”) with your name, number, and float details. No fee, just small-town spirit! Kids can dive into axe throwing, gunny sack races, lawn games, and more. The star attraction? A rehabbed dunk tank where you can submerge a firefighter for a donation—bring your aim and a few bucks! Food trucks and vendors will keep you fueled, with Fill the Boot donations continuing to support our volunteer fire department. Free entry, family-friendly, and pure Luther love.

Why It Matters
This shindig isn’t just about sparklers—it’s a fundraiser for the Luther Volunteer Fire Department. Josh and Stephanie of Opus Entertainment pour their hearts into this event, juggling logistics, vendors, and their fireworks stand to make it happen. “It’s a hustle to organize these fundraisers, but help from folks like you makes it possible,” Josh says. Every Fill the Boot donation, dunk tank toss, or vendor fee keeps our fire department ready to roll. Luther’s small-town spirit shines brightest when we come together—parade, play, and pass the boot!
